I believe creativity is about the process and requires a knowledge of materials that is gained through a slow attention to practice plus a good deal of play and experimentation. I create art using traditional materials on paper and textiles. Sometimes I digitize my work using Adobe Photoshop. Sometimes I sell what I make.

Most of my inspiration comes from walking in gardens, along lakeshores, and in art and archaeology museums. I have degrees in both history and graphic design. I love talking about how objects in the real world tell stories, and about how history and the arts are so very important for a healthy society.
When I’m not in the studio, I may be in the library with a book and a cup of tea, or I may be in the garden fussing over the flowers. My gardening goal is to have as many daffodils in my yard as possible, although my irises are competing for that top position.
